The Cradle of Prayer
The Cradle of Prayer offers recordings for morning and evening prayers and free daily downloads, read directly from the pages of 1928 Book of Common Prayer. May these readings and songs refresh your mind, heart, and soul as we walk in the path of our Lord together.
These recordings were developed with you in mind, just you, in your personal need for His word and peace. As you listen, we welcome you to participate, where you might find yourself in a prayerful chapel with only your priest and cantor. It’s time made for you without the distractions of our world.
Find Peace by Listening to Daily Recorded Prayers
For every morning and night there is a service meant for your heart and mind to enjoy and follow. Each reading includes a psalm, an old testament scripture, a new testament scripture, and prayers for the order of the day.
During each service you will hear psalms, canticles sung simply and acapella, as well as prayers for you to recite along with our priest. Services last anywhere from 12 to 18 minutes and can be enjoyed from your own home, car, or wherever you may be. The Litany is offered at the end of each Friday morning service.
We now offer tutorial pages on how to sing a canticle! Choose “Canticle Tutor” from the menu above and follow the directions, words, and the cantor as she sings each canticle for you. Simply choose and play one canticle tune and follow the words as written. Time and practice will ensure success! We begin this endeavor with the Venite, the first canticle in morning prayer.
